The G-Lot, planted in 1992, was the first extreme high-altitude chardonnay planted in Mendoza (5,000 feet elevation). Rocky soils with dense calcareous sediments. Mineral aromatics and optimal acidity.

The Laborde Syrah vineyard was planted by a double massale selection of Syrah vines brought back from France’s Rhone Valley over a half century ago by renowned viticulturist Luis Laborde.

Laura Catena is a 4th-generation Malbec grower. With Luca, Laura pioneered grower relations in Mendoza and discovered many small old-vine Malbec vineyards that were previously going into bulk wine. The Luca team works with some of the best small producer family vineyards in the Uco Valley to make this rich and dense example of Malbec.

Laura Catena named her son Dante afer Dante Alighieri, the father of the Italian language. “Dante’s Kiss” is made in honor of the ancient blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, immortalized by the growth of the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Beso de Dante was the first of its kind made in Mendoza.

Dense and concentrated, it never loses its ability to exude the red and black fruits and spice that are the true expression of Malbec in Mendoza. This is a huge wine from old-vine grapes, with an aging potential of 20 to 30 years. While you certainly could drink this now, it will improve considerably after resting for years in the bottle.
